Vitamin Deficiency

 

When a person has a deficiency, it can have an adverse effect on their health.  Dependent upon which deficiency you have, you could have decrease vision, brittle bones, nail fungus or constipation.  deficiency also has been linked to various types of cancers and other diseases.

 

Most people can get the majority of their needs met with a well balanced diet.  However, some people do not have the option of following a well balanced diet, or their metabolism is slightly out of balance, and as a result they need to have supplemental vitamins included in their daily diet. 

 

If you are constantly run down and lethargic, you might need to increase you B vitamins.  If you are battling the flu, you may need to increase your C intake.  Before you start taking a lot of different supplements, you should check with your doctor.  If he suspects a



deficiency, he may recommend that you take a multi or combination of vitamins and minerals. 

 

If you are taking supplements, you need to let your doctor or pharmacist know which ones and the dosage you are taking.  There have been drug reactions caused by using vitamins with certain drugs. 

Many people will go to the doctor for common ailments, and find out they are suffering from a deficiency.  A well balanced diet will solve a majority of their problems, but now they are forced to take numerous drugs to try and heal their body. 

 

The next time you feel that you are becoming ill, you might want to check out your diet.  You may be suffering from a deficiency.  By the time you discover the deficiency, it may be too late, and you will need to see the doctor.  The best time to combat a deficiency is before you get ill.  The best way to fight a deficiency is with a well balanced diet with a good supplement.
